I am writing this article away from School at the start of a very busy Term 3 for everyone, whilst on Study Leave. I have been visiting schools and cities in the USA east coast, at Washington (DC), Raleigh (NC), Charleston (SC); Savannah (GA), and Memphis (TN). We have been driving mostly between these cities with my wife who is looking at school libraries for her school, so it has been a rare and valuable but intense time. We did also travel to Graceland which was an amazing iconic location and commercially stunning experience. I will be reporting in full to our community with my findings from Study Leave, and there were a few surprising things I learnt about US Independent Schools, in comparison to CCPS. They are pleasing findings, from our point of view, I think.
