With Term 3 almost completed the School is thinking about the end of year celebrations, particularly for our graduating Year 12 students who complete their final school assessment items early next Term. I wish our Year 12s a very happy and satisfying final few weeks for their schooling, including our Foundation students Matthew Scott, Matthew Oberhoffer, Claye Weight and Andrew Barbeler. Students next Term will be participating in our partnership with Caloundra Surf Life Saving within their HPE programs. In this beautiful and unique environment at Caloundra and Pelican Waters, I can think of no better way to use this wonderful resource than to learn the skills of surf lifesaving including communications, teamwork, events management, beach safety and awareness, and community service, etc. It is fair to say that in my recent visits to China in presenting our school to educational authorities, and parents and children in China, showing them photographs and video of our location created quite a stir – awe and wonderment might be appropriate descriptions of the people’s reactions to our students’ interactions with this magnificent place. Students in Years 4 to 10 will be participating in courses that are tailored for their age groups and skills levels, in partnership with Caloundra SLS.
