Jess competed at Rainbow Beach this last weekend.  She had 2 races – one on Saturday and one on Sunday, both races were 750m ocean swim, 20km bike and 5km runs.  On Saturday she had a really good race coming second overall Female in the open category (There were a few professionals in the race and only one managed to come in front).  Sunday she was off to an even better start coming out the water first with an even better lead than on Saturday and in the lead halfway through the bike leg she punctured which finished her race in relation to a podium finish.  However she walked her bike back to transition, put on her run shoes and finished the run…great determination! The next race she will be competing in is the first of the Queensland Gatorade Series –  It is being held at Kawana Lake on September 22nd and again she is going to compete in the Open Category, not her age.
